A Pioneer in Clear Aligner Therapy
Dr. Rivoli has been at the forefront of clear aligner orthodontics since its earliest days. As one of the original members of the Invisalign® Alpha Team—a select group of about 30 orthodontists worldwide—he helped guide Invisalign’s treatment design and clinical development.
By 2004, Dr. Rivoli ranked as the fourth-largest Invisalign provider in the U.S., reflecting his deep expertise and innovative approach. His leadership in aligner treatment led to an invitation to speak at the Invisalign National Summit in 2005, where he shared insights on advanced aligner therapy with orthodontic professionals nationwide.
Advancing Innovation with ClearCorrect and Spark Aligners
In 2006, Dr. Rivoli joined the startup ClearCorrect as Senior Orthodontic Clinical Advisor, working closely with founder Dr. Willis Pumphries to help shape what became the second-largest clear aligner company in the U.S. His expertise in clinical design and case management helped establish ClearCorrect’s trusted reputation for precision and patient satisfaction.
Continuing his commitment to cutting-edge orthodontic technology, Dr. Rivoli began offering Ormco’s Spark™ Aligners in 2022, known for their clarity, comfort, and accuracy. In 2025, he returned to ClearCorrect as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and national lecturer, educating fellow orthodontists on modern aligner techniques.
To date, he has completed over 5,000 aligner treatments, making him one of the most experienced aligner orthodontists in the United States.
TMJ-Focused and Joint-Based Orthodontics
What truly sets Dr. Rivoli apart is his Joint-Based Occlusion philosophy, which ensures every smile functions in harmony with the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). He is a past president of the Monroe County Dental Society and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Beyond the Office
Outside his orthodontic practice, Dr. Rivoli’s passion for craftsmanship extends to co-owning a wooden boat restoration business. He lives in Spencerport, NY, with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, boating, skiing, fishing, and spending time with family—pursuits that reflect his professional dedication to balance, precision, and excellence.
Fun Facts:
Dr Rivoli’s wood boat restoration company restored the boat that was in the movie “Indiana Jones and the last crusade.”
He has traveled to the arctic circle as well as the northwest passage at the opening of Hudson Bay.
He is a scuba diver and has explored shipwrecks and shark dives.

Dr. Rivoli earned a B.A. in Pre-Dental from Ohio Wesleyan University. He completed his Masters Research from SUNY Buffalo Department of Oral Medicine. He attended the School of Dental Medicine from SUNY Buffalo, where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He went on to attend the Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester, where he earned his Certificate of Orthodontics.
Before joining his father’s practice, Dr. Rivoli worked as a general dentist in Buffalo, NY. He is dedicated to setting quality industry standards, and has completed continued learning through Peter Dawson’s Center for Advanced Dental Study and Mark Piper’s Advanced TMD Training. He has served as the past president of the Monroe County Dental Society. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontics.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Dr. Rivoli also co-owns a wooden boat restoration business. He resides in Spencerport, NY, with his wife and three children. His special interests include traveling, boating, skiing, fishing, and relaxing with his family.
