This sweet treat will keep you and your dinner guests grinning from ear to ear. For a fun display, cut slices of fresh grapefruit and wedge onto the side of the serving dish. If you wanna get even fancier, add a little fresh mint for some extra flavor and pizzaz.
1 ¼ cups water
1 ¼ cups sugar
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 teaspoons grated grapefruit zest
2 cups freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- In a saucepan on medium heat, bring the water, grapefruit zest, and sugar to a boil, stirring the concoction until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool for five minutes.
- Next stir in the freshly squeezed grapefruit and lemon juice. Pour the mixture into a bowl through a fine-mesh strainer and set aside to cool. Cover the bowl and allow to chill in the fridge for about 2-3 hours.
- Pour ingredients into your ice cream maker and process until the mixture is thick and icy. Place the prepared sorbet in an air-tight container in the freezer for proper storage.
Tip: Don’t forget to whip up this frozen creation the day before you plan on consuming. The wait is totally worth it!
