1. AVOID CHEWING GUM!
Your jaw is the most used joint in the body. Limiting excessive use of the joint and muscles alleviates pressure and gives a chance to rest.
2. AVOID EATING HARD FOODS
Avoid foods like bagels and apples.
3. AVOID CHEWING ON FINGERNAILS, chewing on a pen
4. AVOID RESTING ON YOUR CHIN
This position may be comfortable, but it can affect the jaw
5. AVOID CHEWING ON ONE SIDE
This can stress out one side of your temporomandibular joint.
6.TRY NOT TO CLENCH YOUR TEETH
As teeth clench it places incredible stress through your jaw muscles.
7. STOP SLOUCHING
Did you know the function of your jaw is closely related to posture? Your jaw operates best when your head is above your cervical spine and your posture is upright.
